Maybe you need to specify to run on nvidia. Doing right click on the exe you will have additional option like run and run on nvidia. Otherwise you can also set in the nvidia driver that some programs will always run on nvidia.

if I change inside new kext applegraphiccontrol kext/contents/plugin this file: AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext with an old and patched 10.12.5 one...I have two monitors working and nvidiaweb drivers loaded fine
I tried this -nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-macos-high-sierra-update-06052017/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2439371but it did not work. I tried to replace the kexts using these files -nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-macos-high-sierra-update-06052017/?do=findComment&comment=2437874 but when I give boot I get A disconnected cable message on the monitor, but the pc does not restart. I can only enter the system if I use nv_disable = 1
In previous versions of Ubuntu I was able to install the proprietary nvidia driver for the GeForce 210 graphics card under Additional Drivers in Software & Update but now there are "No additional drivers available".
Lastly, I downloaded the official driver from nvidia's web page and tried installing it directly but the installation was unsuccessful. The log says: fatal error: asm/kmap_types.h: No such file or directory
